LIV WALBECK

Liv Walbeck is currently a full time student at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Her experiences working with OU Nightly, Sooner Sports Pad, which airs LIVE on ESPN+, and KWTV News 9 in Oklahoma City, have played influential roles in furthering her career in broadcast media.

Her junior year of college, Liv created OU’s first-ever, lifestyle and entertainment show: Studio 405. When first arriving at OU, Liv told her professors she was interested in entertainment news. With the goal of one day being a television host on a major network, she knew she wanted to get her feet wet in that genre of storytelling.

After meeting with professors and department heads, Liv got the “go ahead!” Months of brainstorming, collaboration and planning went into creating Studio 405. In September, 2022, her idea finally came to fruition. The short, but sweet, 15-minute show highlights all OU - and surrounding areas of Norman - has to offer!

Liv truly believes that intentional actions are a superpower. When you set your mind to something, don’t just make a list… check the boxes. Her passion for uplifting women and inspiring others to achieve their goals led her to create her personal blog and platform: Liv it Well.

By reminding women of their worth, Liv believes she can encourage them to share their light with others. Liv it Well emphasizes self-care through prioritizing one’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. It starts with you. When you nourish your body and mind, the more likely you are to spark a positive change in your community.

In March 2023, Liv Walbeck competed for Miss Oklahoma USA for the first time, and took home the title as well as the Interview Award. As Miss Oklahoma USA, Liv uses this platform as a way to spark conversations about mental and physical health as well as encourage women to come together in creating a positive change in their communities.
